Jefferson Case for Support
FOCUSING ON THE FUTURE

Despite the many challenges, Jefferson is taking an aggressive stance to meet growing workforce demands, and is on the threshold of one of the most exciting periods in our history. Our challenges are undeniably great but our opportunities are even greater. With a rich history spanning over 40 years, we remain focused on our mission and the integral role we play in educating the community's workforce.

Jefferson's success is based on a strong foundation of quality programs and service and a highly dedicated and competent faculty and staff. Currently, the college serves nearly 14,000 students on five campuses, and has the second largest enrollment of any post-secondary institution in this area, and sixth largest in the state. Here, students can pursue the first two years of a bachelor's degree at a cost far less than at a four-year public or private university, or complete a myriad of certificate, diploma and/or associate degree programs, making a quality education easily accessible and affordable. Our students, through their individual successes, enrich our communities and improve the quality of life for all.

With a focus on the future, we are uniquely positioned to respond to the ever-changing educational challenges ahead. To do so, we must supplement our traditional sources of public funding that cannot keep pace with the demands of those we serve. Private support will provide that critical margin of difference between mediocrity and excellence.

This community college is vital to this community for many reasons: for the affordable education; for the quality education that Jefferson Community College provides; for the accessible education it provides; and it is a vital part of this community all around. We need healthcare workers, and we need technology workers, and Jefferson Community College provides these services to our community in a professional, high quality manner."

"In today's global economy, education is no longer a choice--it's imperative! Those with a good education will drive our economy and lead this community to greater heights. Many of our key community leaders began their education at Jefferson, and with private support we will ensure that opportunity is there for our future leaders as well. "
