NAMED GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
Your investment in Madisonville Community College
will make a significant impact on the lives of our students,
and the businesses and communities we serve.
Private sector investments provide
a critical margin of support that enables
MCC to pursue excellence in classroom
instruction, training for business and
industry, continuing education, cultural
enrichment, community service, and
economic development.
We consider it an honor to recognize our
benefactors who have invested significantly in
our mission and vision. Your name, or the
name of someone you wish to honor, will
be recognized in a special way for your
support of the Fulfilling the Promise
Campaign for MCC as outlined in this
brochure. Additional naming opportunities
may be developed at your request; the
college is now developing recognition for
donations associated with Fulfilling the
Promise and one for all donors who have
made commitments at specific levels.
MCC also offers a number of named
endowed academic positions for college
faculty and endowed scholarships.
Endowments
MCC's Endowment is an aggregation of
gifts provided by donors with the requirement
they be held and invested in perpetuity to
generate earnings now and in future years
to support the donor's intended purpose.
Annual income generated by endowments
can be used to support faculty and students,
programs, and/or operational needs of MCC.
Named Academic Positions
Endowed Chair -
Minimum gift of $500,000
Endowed Professorship -
Minimum gift of $100,000
An endowed chair is a distinction awarded
to a faculty member in recognition of
significant contributions to the individual's
academic discipline. An endowed chair may
also be held by the current chair or director
of an academic division. In addition to the
academic honor given to the individual, an
endowed chair or professorship provides
funding for support of his or her teaching,
research, and service responsibilities, and
is supported by annual income from a
permanently invested endowment fund.
Income may also be used to support the
base salary of the endowed chair or
professorship, unless expressly prohibited
by the donor or gift agreement.
Endowed Lectureship -
Minimum gift between $10,000 - $100,000
An endowed lectureship is a temporary
appointment and may be given to a
visiting scholar in temporary residence
or may be used to support a lecture series
on the topic for which the lectureship
was created.
Named Scholarships
Named Scholarship Endowment -
Minimum gift of $10,000
MCC will name endowed scholarships to
support students enrolled in a
postsecondary degree program. Donors
may designate the name, purpose and
criteria for awarding scholarships from the
income generated by the endowment.
A minimum gift of $10,000 is required to
establish a scholarship endowment; a
minimum gift of $20,000 is recommended if
the donor wishes to distribute income in the
endowment's initial twelve months.
Named Facilities
A variety of naming opportunities are
available on all three campuses of
Madisonville Community College. MCC
plans to build a 40,000-square-foot Applied
Technology building to provide the
infrastructure for electronics, electricity,
machine tool, heating and air conditioning,
CAD and other applied technology curricula.
This facility will make enrollment in
technical courses at both the secondary and
postsecondary levels possible. The
College's workforce development programs,
as well as the regionally recognized ACE2
Basic Education Program, will be housed in
this facility. The consolidation of programs
and administrative units will facilitate
community partnerships, enhance
economic development efforts and improve
the efficiency for delivery of technical
degree programs.
