In my many years of service to higher education, I have seen first-hand how important it is for businesses and
individuals to invest in students and their education. That extra measure of excellence can only be achieved if
we build a foundation of support that takes colleges and students through the lean times and prepares them
to flourish no matter what the economy does. Community and technical colleges are the backbone of
education in many communities in the Commonwealth. Maysville gave me my start as a college administrator.
As the first president, I saw the pride felt by those early community leaders who helped build the college. That pride has continued, and it is time, once again, for this college to ensure its foundation for the future.
Maysville Community and Technical College has made a promise to the region to develop young minds,
prepare students for bachelor's degree programs, train technical workers, retrain dislocated workers, and support business and economic
development. The Fulfilling the Promise Campaign is about making good on that promise. It's about helping to secure the future of this region.
I'm happy to have been a part of its past. You can be part of its future.
