Technology/Equipment Upgrades - Providing services to over 8,000 individuals and
approximately 300 businesses and industries requires immediate expansion and enhancement of
technology and facilities. The District Advancement Endowment supports upgrades for existing
technology, equipment, software, and infrastructure necessary to meet our communities' requests
for a variety of technologically advanced programs.
Faculty/Staff Training and Internships with Business and Industry -
Regional industry demands training that upgrades workforce skills for employees who, in turn,
help organizations remain efficient, productive, and technologically competitive. To ensure that
our region is retaining the highest quality of trained employees, it is critical that we provide the
College's faculty and staff with professional training that ensures teaching strategies that lead to
top-level proficiency using stateoftheart technology.

"The reality of business today is that there really are no more 'tote that barge and lift that bale'
jobs. We've been in business 27 years and our industry is constantly changing. We must be able
to continually upgrade the skills of our workforce. Increasing the technological capability
of the College is absolutely essential.
Upgrading the skills of faculty and staff at Owensboro Community and Technical College is
equally critical. They have to stay on the cutting edge and provide leadership to the rest of us on
what's new and what's coming. College faculty and staff need to be prepared to anticipate the needs
of business and industry even before we know what they are. OCTC is unique. I see the
leadership of the college out in the community, coming to our worksite asking,'what do you
need?' and then translating those needs into curriculum that helps our business become more
successful and helps us maintain our competitive edge in industry."
