• Increase the quality of Kentucky's workforce
• Increase productivity and per capita income
• Provide for a high standard of living
• Improve quality of life
  

Skill Standards are:

• An indicator of an individual's understanding of the 'culture' of the manufacturing industry
• An indicator of what workers need to know to be successful on the job
• Performance specifications that identify the knowledge, skills and abilities to be productive
